Cruden develops human-in-the-loop simulators for training and R&D purposes. Our products
enable Formula 1 teams to design faster cars and coastguards to train effectively for saving
people from the next big storm. Our simulators are key tools in the development process of
future cars and are used for scientific research into safe and comfortable autonomous transport.
We are looking for a practical and motivated Mechanical Technician (MBO) to support the
mechanical build and assembly of our advanced driving simulators. Your main focus will be
hands-on work in our workshop: assembling components, preparing parts, performing
mechanical adjustments, and supporting testing.
On days when workshop activities allow, you will also assist the engineering team with tasks
such as checking production drawings, reviewing assembly documentation, and performing
basic SolidWorks work (e.g. models updates, or reviewing assemblies). This role is ideal for
someone who enjoys practical mechanical work but also wants to grow their engineering skills
over time. It is estimated that you will work four days per week in the workshop and one day in
the office.

○ Carry out mechanical testing, checks, and calibration during assembly.
● Production & Quality
○ Perform incoming inspections of components.
○ Identify issues in parts or assemblies and report them to the engineering team.
○ Suggest practical improvements to assembly workflows and procedures.
● Engineering Support (Secondary, as workload allows)
○ Check and review production drawings for manufacturability and assembly
clarity.
○ Assist with SolidWorks tasks such as model updates, creating basic parts, or
reviewing assemblies.
○ Help prepare or update assembly instructions and documentation.
● On-Site Support (Occasional)
○ Lead or participate in installation or service work at customer locations when
required.
● You enjoy mechanical assembly and working with tools and workshop equipment.
● You can read and understand technical drawings.
● You work accurately and take pride in building high-quality assemblies.
● You are eager to learn new skills, including CAD and engineering workflows.
● You can work independently, but also enjoy being part of a collaborative team.
● You have the technical insight and experience to fill in the gaps when technical
documentation is insufficient.
● You are proactive, practical, and curious.
● You are available full-time.
● You are fluent in Dutch or English.
● Completed MBO education in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
● Experience with mechanical assembly or production environments.
● Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand tolerances.
● Familiarity with workshop tools, measurement equipment, and mechanical fitting.
● Preferred: Basic SolidWorks skills or willingness to develop them.
● Strong problem-solving attitude and structured working style.
● Valid driver’s license B
